The Badger Story: From a Carpenter's Hands to a Household Name
In the mid-1990s, our founder, Bill Whyte, worked as a carpenter. His hands often split and cracked in the frigid New England winters. One night, seeking a soothing solution, he mixed up some beeswax and olive oil to create a simple herbal balm. The balm worked wonders for his hands, and he decided to share it with everyone he knew – and that's how the Badger story began.

What Makes Badger Bug Repellents Special?
According to Outside Magazine, our "lab-tested, DEET-free insect-repellent balm has a bit of a cult following. It travels well, smells great, and is certified organic with ingredients like castor oil, citronella, rosemary, and lemongrass."
How to Apply Badger Bug Repellent Stick: 1. Peel label along dotted line, remove cap, and twist the bottom until the product rises. 2. Rub the stick directly on the entire area of skin to be protected. No mess! 3. Reapply as needed.
We don't recommend applying this product to your clothes, hat, or lawn chair, as the balm base of organic olive oil and beeswax might stain certain fabrics.
Our bug repellents are formulated to be generally repellent to a wide variety of biting insects, but they are only tested on mosquitoes and stable flies. We cannot make efficacy claims for other insects like gnats, ticks, fleas, and no-see-ums.
Badger Bug Repellents do not contain DEET, boric acid, Skin So Soft, permethrin, Wondercide, neem, or picaridin. Instead, they repel bugs with organic essential oils, nature's original bug repellents.
Independent testing has proven that Badger's all-natural bug repellents are effective for at least 3 hours. All bug repellents sold in the USA must pass rigorous testing before they can be marketed.
